OkoFEN products are available for US customers
Maine Energy Systems is the first US distribution partner for ÖkoFEN products in the Northeastern United States.
After the certification of the Pellematic systems to UL standards, ÖkoFEN is now ready for the US market. Finally, following some month of negotiations and preparations for the US requirements, the way of distribution and marketing is defined. “We are proud to say that we are ready for the US market now” announces ÖkoFEN CEO Herbert Ortner after finishing the negotiations with the new partner Maine Energy Systems (MESys). The ÖkoFEN products will be marketed by MESys as the Autopellet series and will include all well proven equipment from Europe. As a long term strategic partner for the production of the products ÖkoFEN teams up with Maine Eco Pelletheating LLC which was founded to produce European pellet heating technology under license in the United States.

Maine Energy Systems pioneered the introduction of automatic wood pellet boiler systems and bulk pellet distribution to the US beginning in June 2008. The founders were motivated by the New Englanders’ extraordinary dependence on oil for home and business heating and the great potential of wood as an energy ressource (90% of Maine is covered by wood).
Nowadays MESys, together with some regional partners, can offer the customer a robust bulk pellet distribution infrastructure and fully automatic pellet heating systems from 41,000 to 765,000 BTU/hr.
“For us it always was a key issue to find someone who is willing and able to build up the market from scratch and step by step. MESys is really focusing on the development of the pellet market and knows that it is very important to give support for the customer. The goal is always to have satisfied customers,” says Herbert Ortner of the central idea behind the US market entry.

The basis for reaching that goal is to have well trained contractors in the field who are confident with the products. Therefore training sessions, held by Herbert Ortner at the training facilities of MESys in Bethel, ME are offered for all contractors who are interested in pellet heating. Two sessions with 25 contractors have already been completed and the next session is scheduled for September 16. and 17.
