The Pellematic system is tested to UL Standards
As the first Austrian manufacturer, ÖkoFEN completes UL testing at the OMNI Testlab in Portland, Oregon.
Our primary objective is the development of smallscale ecological biomass heating systems for the homeowners around the world. This mission is reflected in our company name ÖkoFEN. Going for the US market
But ÖkoFEN reflects the pioneer spirit not only in technology matters - escpecially the field of export and the development of new markets is a big part of ÖkoFEN's success story. Therefore it was logical that the North American market will not be overlooked.
The North American market is a big challange for all of the European manufacturers of pellet heating systems. Because of the huge potential of the market and its need to make itself independent from forein oil ÖkoFEN CEO Herbert Ortner decided to make the market entry happen as soon as possible. "There is no fully automatic system available in the US and homeowners were shocked by extremly high oil prices in 2008. At the same time people become more and more environmentaly aware." explains Herbert Ortner the reasons for his decision to go for the north American market.
The first UL certified pelletboiler from Austria
A few months later ÖkoFEN is proud to say that it is the first Austrian pelletboiler producer who can offer a product which is tested to UL standards and therefore can be installed in US buildings.
OMNI testlabs is situated in Portland, Oregon and has specialised itself in testing of wood burning appliances since 1979. It's product testing programs are accredited by national and international accreditation bodies including the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) und the Standard Council of Canada (SCC). After intens testing OMNI completes the certification process for the Pellematic models PE12 to PE56 aswell as PES12 to PES56 and therefore allows ÖkoFEN to use the mark on these Pellematic boilers.
When seeing the OMNI label customers can be ensured that the products are tested to all relevant safety standars of the US and Canada.
