1st Call (Gloucestershire) Ltd is a heating company based on the Gloucestershire Herefordshire borders, England. Until recently oil has been the main fuel of choice for their customers but growing environmental awareness has meant more and more demand for a greener solution.
Director Paul Smith says that after reviewing all the options he decided to meet Organic Energy (the ÖkoFEN partner for Great Britain), and was impressed by the quality of the OkoFEN wood pellet boilers, and by the fact that Organic Energy only sells where the application is suitable and where it can be fully supported in the future.
The first installation in Gloucestershire combined the experience of existing OkoFEN installers with the local knowledge of 1st Call. The heating system was to be sited in a cellar down a steep slippery staircase just 4 Inch wider than the stripped down boiler! It took just 2 hours to strip, move and rebuild the unit and not one nut or bolt was misaligned at the end.
Paul Smith says "I personally believe that reducing our Carbon footprint is the only responsible approach to modern living. This requires thought; not all apparently green systems are really that green. Wood is ideal as a fuel - it will all become CO2 eventually. We just choose where and when that happens! Okofen in typically Austrian fashion have applied ultra-modern technology to the process to give the customer totally automatic but precise control of their heating."
Having agreed to become the distributor for the region, 1st Call recently assisted Organic Energy at a local home building and renovation exhibition. Paul says "We have since spent our whole time visiting prospective customers and completing quotations. Wood pellet heating has definitely come of age!"
